Going out for brunch in San Diego? Consider The Smoking Gun in Downtown San Diego! Brunch starts early — 9AM! While the brunch menu lasts from 9AM til 1PM, you’ll be able to stay as long as you like in this hospitable hot spot….watching football, soccer, and enjoying top-notch cocktails like Goodbye Island, Revolver, Holy Smokes and Shoot the Root. Quality beer and wine are also available. There’s even a ping pong table to play at, and rumor has it, a pool table is coming.
For brunch, we had The Smoking Gun’s bacon buttermilk pancakes. Wow wow wow they are magnificent! The itty-bitty bacon pieces explode in your mouth with deliciousness. Each pancake is thin, not too filling, and… not to be missed.
We also tried the Meat & Eggs plate. This heavenly hefty option comes with your choice of smok’d brisket, pork or bacon, 2 eggs, hash browns and a biscuit. Everything was amazing. The hashbrowns were nice and dry and full of freshly cut peppers — finally a hash brown side that isn’t wet and soggy. We could not of asked for a more fulfilling brunch!
To top it off, the Chokd Rabbit cocktail served during brunch is my new favorite cocktail to sip on. It’s made with Scotch, fernet (herbal liqueur), cane, lemon and mint. Such a refreshing and delightful brunch cocktail!
The Smoking Gun brunch was on-point in every possible way. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
