The welcoming Greystone Steakhouse is my downtown San Diego go-to streakhouse when I’m in the mood for steak, wild game, seafood, and avant-garde libations. I was on the hunt for some proper cusine when Greystone’s menu jumped out at me on a google search. And in the mood to relax and not necessarily engage in a formal dress code establishment where it seems too fancy to be joyful. You couldn’t ask for better fine dining customer service. The dimly lit ambiance at Greystone steakhouse is very spacious, warm and friendly, accommodating and elegant. It’s both high end fine dining and casual. Abstract art adorns their walls and uplifting music lends to the casual yet upscale atmosphere. You can have a romantic evening out, or schmooze with your associates, or even check out their happy hour from 4-6 every day. Blackberry smash anyone? How about a tasty summer tonic?

Dinner was superbly supreme, exploding with excellence with every dish. Nesting the tuna tartar on a bed of Himalayan salt really gave the food profiles an added dimension of flavor. The Australian Wagyu beef was incredible, a perfectly cooked piece of meat that nearly melted in my mouth. Topped with bleu cheese, I never wanted the dish to end. The pancetta macaroni cheese was oozing with unforgettable flavor, and I’m unashamed that it will be my go-to side, each and every trip to Greystone Steakhouse. The Colorado Lambchops, cooked to perfection, may have stole the show; Lambchops were the first thing on my mind when I woke up this morning. It was served with poached pear, dry fig port and crispy truffle risotto cake. I might as well of been serenaded by angels with each and every savory, succulent bite.
