In 2009, ARTS (A Reason To Survive) in San Diego was contacted by filmmakers Sean and Andrea Nix Fine because they wanted to tell a story through the eyes of a homeless teenager who dreamt of being an artist. The documentary Inocente is about a former ARTS’ student.
In 2013, Inocente won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject Documentary.
